What does the AWS MAP methodology consist of?
AWS Migration Acceleration Program has three phases: Assess (discovery, business case, TCO, migration plan with AWS credits), Mobilize (landing zone, security, CI/CD, training, first pilot wave) and Migrate & Modernize (migration waves with progressive modernization). It is the official AWS standard and unlocks credits that fund part of the project.
What do you need from us to start?
Just the initial inventory: list of servers, applications, databases, and known dependencies. We enrich it with AWS Application Discovery Service and Migration Evaluator. Caleidos handles the rest.
How long does an AWS migration take?
It is a process that requires time and is executed in waves. For a Latin American mid-market enterprise, between 6 and 12 months depending on size and complexity. The MAP methodology delivers value every wave so you see continuous progress.
Do you do real modernization or just lift-and-shift?
Both: rehost (lift-and-shift) when speed matters more than transformation, and real modernization when it unlocks value. For Microsoft we use Aurora Babelfish and AWS Transform to bring .NET and SQL Server into cloud-native stacks freeing up licenses. For Oracle we migrate Forms & Reports to Angular or React. What is Aurora Babelfish?
A T-SQL/TDS compatibility layer that allows .NET applications and SQL Server stored procedures to run on Aurora PostgreSQL without rewriting application code. Reduces SQL Server license costs by up to 90% and opens the path to progressive modernization.
What is AWS Transform?
The AWS AI agent for automating the conversion of .NET Framework to .NET cross-platform Linux and T-SQL to PostgreSQL. Caleidos uses it to accelerate Microsoft modernization with quality and traceability.
Can you move Oracle Forms and Reports to the cloud?
Yes. We migrate legacy Oracle Forms & Reports stacks to modern Angular or React frontends served from CloudFront, with APIs on Lambda, ECS, or EKS against Aurora PostgreSQL or Oracle on RDS as needed. You free Oracle Forms/Reports/WebLogic licenses and gain a modern UX.
What is the AWS Migration Competency?
The official AWS certification that validates a partner has proven process, teams, and track record in migrations. Caleidos holds this competency, which unlocks MAP credits and AWS funding for your organization.
How do you handle security and compliance during migration?
Landing zone with AWS Control Tower, multi-account Organizations, IAM with least-privilege, encryption at rest and in transit by default. For FSI: PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, and applicable SBS controls from day one.
